At New Age Protection Training Academy, our goal is to provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision about your career training. 	Q: I'm currently working and have limited time to attend class. How flexible is your course schedule?
	A: We offer courses between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm and some evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

	Q: If I become a certified security guard in the District of Columbia, am I eligible to work in Maryland and Virginia with that same certification?
	A: Unfortunately, no. The DC Guard license issued by the District of Columbia Security Officer’s Management Branch (SOMB) only authorizes you to work in the confines of the District of Columbia. Each jurisdiction has its own certification process.

	Q: Are all of the course material and supplies included in the tuition?
	A: No. Students taking firearms training may be required to purchase hearing and eye protection products.

	Q: I'm interested in taking firearms training. Are range fees included in the course tuition?
	A: Yes. Fees for range time, ammunition, and target practice are included in the student’s initial attempt to qualify. There is an additional fee for ammunition should a student fail to qualify on his or her first attempt.

	Q: I have a criminal background. Am I eligible to become a certified security guard?
	A: The New Age Protection Training Academy does not adjudicate. We submit certification applications to the appropriate certifying authority, which makes the final determination as to an applicant’s suitability. The State of Maryland, for instance, requires companies to screen applicants and reject those with criminal backgrounds.

	Q: I'm interested in becoming a private investigator. Will your course qualify me to become registered in Maryland, DC and Virginia?
	A: No. Qualification as a private investigator depends on a number of factors—education, experiences and background—in addition to the completion of the investigation course. Each jurisdiction has its own evaluation standards. The Private Investigator course we offer is just part of the requirement for the State of Virginia.

	Q: Does the New Age Academy offer a job referral service?
	A: We don’t have a formal employment referral service, but we often send job alerts when we learn of job opportunities. If you would like to receive these alerts, please complete our Job Alert Request Form.

	Q: Where is Springfield, Virginia?
	A: Springfield, Virginia is located near what is locally known as the mixing bowl in the Washington, DC area—approximately eight miles from the nation’s Capitol. If you live in the DC area, you can obtain driving directions from your home.
